Apply to Coach

  • COACH / INSTRUCTOR FOR LEARN-TO-SKATE AND BUNNY PROGRAM 

Coaching applications are currently being accepted for the upcoming season. 

To apply, simply submit a letter in writing or via email to the to the President outlining the following information:

  • Name

  • Address

  • Phone number

  • Email address 

  • Qualifications and any previous coaching experience (Please list all levels/courses that you have). 

  • Age group you are interested in: Learn-to-Skate / Bunny (under 8), (Novice (6-9yrs), Petite (10-11), Tween (12-13), Junior (14-15), Belle (16-18), Open (19+)

  • Type of coaching you are interested in. (Rep, House league, Learn-to-Skate / Bunny)

  • Why you think you would make a good coach.

REP Coach applications must be submitted by Saturday, April 7, 2007.     

Submit House League, Bunny or Learn-to-Skate Coaching applications as soon as possible.

Duties involved for being a House League Coach:  Ensuring all members of your team show up on time for games and practices, learn the game of ringette, skating skills and have fun.

  • Novice (6-9 yrs) House League will likely take place on Saturdays from about 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm.

  • Petite/Tween (10-13 yrs) House League Saturdays from about 7:35 pm – 9:15 pm.

  • JBDI House League (14+ yrs) on Mondays from about 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
      

Duties involved for being a Rep Coach:  Scheduling of games in conjunction with the VP of Rep, planning and executing practices for the whole season to build player fitness and ringette skills.  Pick a coaching staff, create a business plan/team budget, and organize tournaments for the team.  Represent the Association at home and on the road.  Some travel may be required depending upon level of play and league team plays in.  Ensure the team has fun!

Duties involved for being a Learn-to-Skate / Bunny Coach-Instructor:  Provide instruction for non-skaters and beginners. Teach the fundamentals of balance, striding, stopping, turns and falling. In the Bunny program the instructor will teach participants how to use sticks and learn ring handling, shooting and passing.
