After extensive research and deliberation over the summer of 2003, the Etobicoke Ringette Association decided that the Rep Teams would play under the name “Stingers”.  Stingers are fast, fun, energetic and work in teams.

The next step was to develop a new on-the-ice look, and that required a team logo...something fun, something that would evoke the Stingers name, and also evoke ringette. And it had to be uniquely ours.

To do the job, we turned to one of our own...Jenn Fice, who, aside from being the goalkeeper for our Open A team, is also a graphic designer.   Who better to design a logo for a ringette team than someone who plays the game?

Etobicoke Stingers LogoAt the Family Skate on December 20, 2003, the results were unveiled. The logo shows a powerful "Stinger" in traditional ERA colours of burgundy and gold, with a ring on her ringette stick.

To match the new logo, our Stinger teams adopted a new jersey, with a body of either white or navy blue (for home and away) and with accents of burgundy and gold.

It’s an exciting new look for our exciting teams!
