We are excited to announce that we will host Regional Teams at all age levels including U12A, U12B, U14, U16 and U19

Regional REP "B" Teams (Ages 8 - 18)

  • A typical season consists of 20 league games and participation in 2 to 4 tournaments.
    • Home games are played on weekends (ie: Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon/evening).
    • Away games are played on weekends within Southern Region boundaries (GTA to Niagara Falls).
    • Teams have a weekly practice at Centennial Arena, Long Branch Arena or the Parklawn Bubble Rink.
    • From December to March additional ice time for ringette and skating skill development is available at an outdoor rink on Saturday mornings.
    • Regional REP teams progress to the Southern Region Ringette Championships at the end of the season.
  • REP teams in the Under 12, 14, 16 and 19 age groups are planned (based on age on December 31st, 2023).

    • A U8 Team will be formed in November/December
    • U10 team will be formed in October from those registered in Novice House League
    • Additional fees for participating on the U10 or U8 Teams will be determined when the teams are organized

  • Equipment: Sport Skates (not figure skates), CSA approved helmet with chin strap (no bicycle helmets permitted), hockey gloves, BNQ certified neck protector, Elbow, Shoulder and shin pads, ringette girdle and pants - or - hockey pants and socks, athletic protector, ringette stick & face mask

    • A Team Uniform will be provided for REP games. Players will supply their own jersey for practice & power-skating sessions

U12A

The U12A program is still considered a regional program however it offers a higher level of competition.  It has the same financial or time commitment (other than further travel) as the B regional program,  it is a higher level of play and requires a higher level of commitment from the player and their parents to ensure that they are available for practices and games.  This means that players may be asked to choose ringette over other social activities (school and family excluded).

Players wishing to play on the U12A team will attend a sortouts in the Fall. Any player who is not offered a spot on the U12A team will be offered a spot on the U12B team. Everyone plays!

U12A teams play in a larger geographical area which could be from Chatham to Etobicoke to Oshawa to Barrie and everywhere in between (spanning Southern, Central and Western Regions) .  There may be more travel, however most games are in your home region - particularly in the first half.

There are no minimum requirements for tournaments - this will be decided by team interest.  Some tournaments will have a minimum of 4 games - thus the fees for these tournaments may be slightly higher.  The year-end tournament for 12A may not be the same location or date as the B Regional year-end tournament for Etobicoke’s B teams.  This will not be determined until the season is well underway.

More information about trying out for the U12A team will be coming over the next few months.  No action is required at this time, other than registering with your Home Association under the U12 Division.
